We receive most of our referrals from former patients/clients, the general public and the judicial system. Although we do not provide any form of legal advise, experience tells us that our typical Multiple DUI Offender (2 in 5), in a best case scenario, will face a 12 month probationary sentence that is likely to include a fine, community service, ignition interlock device, attend DUI School, complete a Clinical Evaluation for Multiple Offenders and submit to alcohol/drug treatment if recommended.

A mandatory license suspension for a Multiple DUI Offender lasts twelve months from the time of sentencing. There are no permits to drive during those twelve months. Upon completion of the hard suspension, an individual may apply for a limited driving permit if he/she has met all the DMV's reinstatement requirements.

As of July 1st, 2003, Family Violence offenders convicted under the Family Violence Act are court mandated by law to participate and complete a Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP) approved by the Georgia Commission on Family Violence. In general terms, a FVIP includes an Intake session, Orientation session and 24 weekly group sessions which must be completed with a 27 week period. FVIP's are highly structured and are monitored by the Department of Corrections.
