We receive most of our referrals from former patients/clients and from the judicial system. A typical Multiple DUI Offender, in a best case scenario, will face a 12 month probationary sentence that may include a fine, 240 hours of community service, ignition interlock device for a minimum of 6 months, attend DUI School, complete a Clinical Evaluation for Multiple Offenders and submit to alcohol/drug treatment if recommended. A "hard-mandatory" license suspension for a Multiple DUI Offender lasts twelve months from the time of sentencing. There are no permits to drive during those twelve months. Upon completion of the hard suspension, an individual can apply for a limited driving permit if he/she has met all the reinstatement requirements, which may include evaluation and treatment.

Domestic Violence offenders usually have been screened by Court Services or are willing to undergo an examination to determine whether or not substance abuse and/or mental illness are part of the problem that led to the individual's arrest. The Georgia Commission on Family Violence recommends programs offer a minimum of 24 group counseling session. The Domestic Violence program is highly structured. Absentiism and tardiness may have serious consequences on the program participants.
