Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act - HIPAA |

As part of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, the federal government has established a set of rules for covered entities under HIPAA. These rules cover privacy and confidentiality of health care information and security procedures for confidential health information. While the government continues to revise HIPAA requirements, employees must complete HIPAA training on privacy and confidentiality regulations by April 13, 2003.
